Exciting Opportunity to become one of two Ferry-based Wildlife Education Officers for ORCA

ORCA (Organisation Cetacea) is seeking two Wildlife Education Officers for the DFDS Seaways ferry between Newcastle (UK) and Bergen (Norway), from May/June 1st 2008 for five and a half months.

The two successful candidates will work on a two-week on, two-week off rota over the period, on a self-employed basis.

A knowledge of cetaceans and marine life is desirable, as is the ability to enthuse others and communicate effectively. As well as being fluent in English, having a Scandinavian language as well would be advantageous, although not vital.

With assistance from ORCA, you will actively develop, manage and communicate an educational programme to promote the importance of whales, dolphins and the marine environment to the general public, as well as raising the awareness of the important research and conservation work being undertaken through the ORCA and DFDS Seaways partnership.

The deadline for applications is 1st May 2008 (receipt of applications will be acknowledged from 21st April), with interviews being held during week commencing 5th May 2008. The first post will begin on 15th May and the second on 1st June 2008.
