Wildlife Officer Placements 2017

ORCA's Wildlife Officer Placements for 2017 are now open for application, with spaces available for both North Sea placements with DFDS and Bay of Biscay placements with Brittany Ferries.

Attendees will have the chance to work on board ferries alongside our talented and dedicated Wildlife Officers, helping them conduct research and engage with members of the public to protect whales, dolphins and porpoises in UK & European waters.

Placements run for four weeks, and cost £695 per person. Included in the experience is:

  • Accommodation (shared same sex cabin with Wildlife Officers with Brittany Ferries, own cabin with DFDS) and food whilst onboard
  • ORCA branded merchandise pack including fleece, hat, t-shirt
  • Free place on an ORCA Marine Mammal Surveyor course (no cash alternative offered)
  • Formal and informal training by Wildlife Officers

Due to overwhelming demand for these placements, candidates are ask to complete an application and may also be required to attend an interview (either in person or via Skype).

Applications close at 5.00pm on 26th March 2017, with interviews scheduled to take place on 10th April 2017.
