Whale Education Month wins support from Tesco Bags of Help fund

1st Sep 2017

ORCA have been shortlisted for funding to support Whale Education Month in Gosport for 2018.

The project has been added to the public vote in Tesco stores in Gosport, where customers can choose from three projects to support as a part of the Tesco Bags of Help programme.

Tesco teamed up with Groundwork to launch its community funding scheme, which sees grants of up to £4,000, £2,000 and £1,000 – all raised from carrier bag sales in Tesco stores – being awarded to local community projects.

Bags of Help offers community groups and projects across the UK a share of revenue generated from carrier bag sales in Tesco store. The public will now vote in store during September & October 2017 on who should receive the awards.

Voting will take place in four stores including the Rowner Express, the main Gosport store, the Lee on Solent Express and the Forton Road Express. To vote you will need to make a purchase of any value in store, but it is not necessary to purchase a carrier bag to receive a token.
