Sandcastles for Sealife Fundraiser

4th Jul 2015

On Sunday 16th August, the Your Seas People & Port project is running its first ‘Sandcastles for Sealife’ competition on Appley Beach, Isle of Wight.  Entrance costs just £5 for a 2 x 2 metre plot of sand to create a sealife themed masterpiece!

The competition opens from 11am onwards and everyone is welcome to participate either as a single entrant or as a team of sand sculptors.  The sand sculptures will be judged by a special guest and the prizes include a family ticket to the Seaview Wildlife Encounter, a family ticket (2 x adults+ 2 children) with The Needles Pleasure Cruises and ORCA goodies.

After the sculpture competition there will be a beach clean along Appley Beach which was recently highlighted by Marine Conservation Society as a heavily littered beach.  ORCA will provide all equipment such as bags, litter pickers and disposable gloves and people are welcome to stay and help for as long as they like.
