ORCA to run first Marine Mammal Surveyor course in west Scotland
1st Aug 2017
ORCA will be running a Maine Mammal Surveyor course in west Scotland for the first time in December 2017.
One of seven courses this year, the Oban based programme will train members of the public to give them the knowledge needed to participate in ORCA's ferry and cruise surveys across the UK.
During the day, participants will be taught the principles of citizen science, as well as the information they need to identify the rich variety of species in UK & European waters.
The course is generously being hosted by the Scottish Association for Marine Science at their institute in Oban, and is a part of ORCA's new survey programme which was piloted in the waters around the Hebrides in June 2017.
Courses last for one day and cost £60 per person, or £54 for concessions. To find out more and to book on this course or one of the others across the UK click here.
