The ever popular ORCA Photo Competition is now live for 2018, with this year's edition expected to be the biggest and most competitive yet!

Now in it's fifth year, the competition calls for photos of marine life in two different categories and ORCA's army of supporters and volunteers are expected to be pulling even more stunning shots out of the bag this year!

Even more excitingly, this year we're delighted to announce that wildlife photographer, conservationist and ORCA patron Mark Carwardine will be judging the contest, with winners receiving a copy of Mark's Ultimate Wildlife Experiences book and a print of their photo signed by the man himself!

If that wasn't enough, two of our partners have also agreed to give away some sensational prizes. Jessops Academy, as well as arranging the prints of the winning pictures, will also be giving each winner a free training course up to a value of £150 from their range of amazing photography courses. Our friends at Silversea Cruises will also be donating a goody bag of exclusive Silversea gifts and a bottle of champagne for each of the runners up to boot!

There are two categories for 2018. The State of European Cetaceans calls for any picture of a whale, dolphin or porpoise taken in European waters, whilst Threats to Marine Life is open to any photo that represents one or more threats facing the ocean, from anywhere in the world.

Entries can be sent to photo@orcaweb.org.uk and the competition closes on 30th September 2018, so get your cameras out and start snapping! To find out more, plus to read our terms and conditions, please visit our dedicated page here!
