ORCA are delighted to announce the launch of a brand new, innovative partnership with Jessops, one of the UK’s leading photography retailers.

The two organisations will be working together to deliver an unforgettable photography experience, combining the technical knowledge of the experts at Jessops Academy with ORCA’s years of experience working in the Bay of Biscay.

The team will be taking a small group of passengers out aboard the Brittany Ferries flagship Pont-Aven, making the trip from Portsmouth to Santander to Plymouth over three days.

During the trip, participants will have the chance to learn all manner of technical skills to enhance their photography before spending time on deck putting them into practice.

The Bay of Biscay is one of the best places in the world to see whales, dolphins and porpoises, and ORCA guides will be on hand to help spot and identify different species marine mammals, as well as the possibility of spotting birds, fish and other wildlife as well.

Passengers will also enjoy beautiful vistas such as the iconic Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and the beautiful island Ushant with its famous lighthouses. The expert team will be on hand to make sure you have the best chance possible of capturing some wonderful shots.

Steve Jones, ORCA’s Head of Partnerships, said: “Whales and dolphins are incredibly photogenic and being able to offer a few lucky passengers the chance to capture that once-in-a-lifetime shot is really exciting. We can’t wait to work with the fabulous photography trainers at Jessops Academy to deliver what promises to be a fantastic experience.”

Vicki Chaplain, National Trainer at Jessops Academy, added: “We’re so excited to be running this course! Teaching photography is such a rewarding job, and having the opportunity to do this whilst on the open sea, helping the important work of the ORCA team is just incredible. Looking forward to July!”

The course takes places from 3rd to 5th July 2018, departing from Portsmouth International Port and costing £600 per person. Places are very limited and expected to book up quickly, so make sure you visit the Jessops Academy website to book today!
