More than 10,000 marine mammals seen in 2015

21st Dec 2015

As the 2015 survey season has now come to a close we would like to take this opportunity to thank every single one of you for ensuring such a successful survey season, your time, dedication and continued support is greatly appreciated.

All data has now been processed and we can confirm that an impressive 65 surveys were conducted during 2015, consisting of over 1500 hours of effort and more than 10000 animals sighted.

Here are some of the sightings maps from this year's surveys in the English Channel, showing the diversity of marine life that can be found there.

Are you interested in volunteering as a Marine Mammal Surveyor?  We have a training course in Newcastle on February 6th.  Find out more on our training page.

I wish you all a lovely Christmas and New Year, and look forward to the 2016 ORCA survey season.
