ORCA's Bay of Biscay Wildlife Officer Placements are now open for application!
These exciting Placement opportunities give individuals the chance to live at sea for four weeks, and to work alongside our talented and dedicated Wildlife Officers, helping them conduct research and engage with members of the public to protect whales, dolphins and porpoises in UK & European waters. Placements run for four weeks, and cost £695 per person.
Read about what Kelly had to say about her time on board as a Wildlife Officer Placement in July 2017: "This placement and my time on board has taught me a great deal of things about living at sea, marine wildlife (particularly cetaceans) and also a lot about myself as a person. These four weeks have improved my patience, my appreciation and understanding of cetaceans along with my ability to inspire and educate others about the importance of marine conservation. I can say without a doubt that this placement is unlike anything else I've experienced and is one of the best things I have ever done. Although my 4 weeks are over, I was able to make memories that will last a lifetime - I sincerely hope this is only the beginning of a wonderfully exciting journey with ORCA and cetacean (and marine) conservation."
Due to overwhelming demand for these placements, candidates are ask to complete an application and may also be required to attend an interview (either in person or via Skype).
Applications close at 9am on 5th March, with interviews scheduled to take place week commencing 19th March 2018.
